I will never be tired of painting Paris and painting in Paris, in any weather. It is my way of getting to know the city. Simply sitting in my favorite spots observing hustling and bustling of local life: language, people, architecture, light. I like to return to the same places to paint: it is always great to know your subject and a surprise of what you didn’t see the last time you rendered it or what has changed. Like my light filled Parisian street with the historical Cafe Bonaparte.
When I choose something to paint, it is almost always about the light, and the way it wraps the subjects around, creating interesting shapes and colors.
There is something special about the ever changing and always surprising Parisian light, whether it’s a vastness of the view over the Seine or the way it illuminates the streets and people.
